ABOUT BEC MCFARLAND
Hey there! My name is Bec McFarland and I’m the founder and owner of Pop Your Business! It's lovely to e-meet you.
I started my first business, Pop Your Career, in 2015 after an extensive career in recruitment and Human Resources. This started as a resume writing business and I soon progressed into career coaching, closing the resume writing arm of Pop Your Career in April 2018 to focus on building my coaching practice.
Over the years, I've developed a real love for business - I’m a nerd at heart and thoroughly geek out on all of that behind-the-scenes business “stuff” that most people, probably including you, find to be a major irritation. I’m talking about design, branding, email marketing, business strategy, launching, social media, systems, processes, automations and so much more.
As Pop Your Career grew, I started being sought out by other business owners who were interested in "picking my brain" and learning more about the success I'd created. As I started working with more and more business owners, it was clear to me that the business “stuff” that I took delight in, was regularly getting in the way of my clients doing the work they really loved.
You feel me? All the back-of-house tasks get in the way and leave you feeling like you’re drowning in admin. With little time and energy to do your REAL work. The reason you started your business in the first place.

Bec McFarland is a DISC ADVANCED® Accredited Consultant and Facilitator, NLP Master Practitioner, Adesso™ Practitioner and Bling Angel. With a career in recruitment and human resources in the public and private sectors spanning over ten years, Bec also holds qualifications in Business, Management, Human Resources, Training and Development and Employment Services.
Bec has a wide range of skills and expertise as a career and business coach and has supported hundreds of individuals to achieve their own personal flavour of fulfilment. She is also a seasoned speaker, who shares on topics including business, mindset and career development.
Bec has been quoted as a career and business expert in a variety of places, including Kochie’s Business Builders, The Cusp, European Business, Canva and more. She has also had her written work published in online and print publications, including HuffPost, SHESaid, Brave Magazine, Orenda Magazine, Business Women Media and Canberra Business News, to name a few.
In 2019, Bec was a finalist in the Small Business Champion category at the YAwards. In 2020 Bec was the winner of the Women With Altitude "Through the Woods" Award, for business owners operating for 5+ years.
